Hi. Yes for Android 2.2 and 2.3 you would require Mobile Accessibility for a good accessibility experience on Android. It costs around £60 for the speech software and can be transferable to any future Android phones as the license is tied to your Google account. You must have a Google account to use Android. Your contacts will be backed up to your Googlemail account so any new contact will appear in your online address book.

Yeah, Android is looking favourite. All options on the table right now.
Was nearly set on Iphone but going off that idea a bit now; one day perhaps.
So is Android better than Nokia and am I understanding right, in my deeply
amateur clueless way, that while Nokia uses Talks, Android uses Code Factory
speech?
Thanks again.

Hi. Have you thought of going down the Android route. They do have
phones that have a physical qwerty keyboard and call and end keys.
Quite a few of third party apps are accessible and the new version of
Android will have full accessibility on their operating system.

I hadn't realised, stupid as this probably sounds, that upgrading to a

have

go
for android. ...But Nokia is an option too.
As always, would be glad to learn more of peoples' opinions.
Thanks

Dear Sandra

I've been a mobile phone user with Talks for probably about 10 years now
and

have recently upgraded from a Nokkia 6210 slide phone to a Nokkia E5 with
qwerty keyboard.

This is a smartphone and is truly fantastic and the professional version
of
talks works really well. There is a good tactile marking just below the
number 5 key which is also the "G" key and although its taken a bit of
getting use to I find it fantastic and wouldn't want to be without it.

I use the hone for testing, emails, internet, note pad and listening to
MP3
files and all works well with Talks and the qwerty keyboard.

I use the phone entirely through touch as I'm completely blind and a touch
typist.

Hoe this helps - go for it Sandra!

Many thanks

Mark

Hello,
The Talks update has sparked my interest in phones and I am giving my
current Mobile some serious thought. I have a C5 at present but would
really like a querty. When I bought it last year, it was the only
phone I could find with any buttons on it.

I would like to know if there is anyone who has the Nokia E5, E6 or
E7, (or any other current Nokia phone with buttons), and what people
think of them. For example, are the keys a comfortable size to type
with and raised enough? Are the keyboards on the front of the phones
or do they slide out. I'd prefer not having to flip or slide things if
possible.

I know this is going away from Talks but is there anyone who may know
someone with an HTC Desire Z or Samsung Galaxy S Pro or any other
Android with querty? Even if there is anyone who has touched one and
could give me an opinion, (good or bad), I would really appreciate it.

All the best,
Sandra.

Hello:
Since it isn't the first time to occur with me, I thought of reporting
this
issue to the talks lists, so to make sure that I haven't miss something.
When a major update or edition of talks officially released, I usually
go
and grab it from the net using my access point on the telephone. When I
download that and install it, and perhaps reboot my handset, talks
refuses
to speak afterwards. That's exactly what occurred yesterday when the
talks
5.30.2 was just oofficially released. The problem hasn't been fixed
untill I
connected my phone via bluetooth, delivered the talks installer, and
updated
that way. The very precise process happened twice when I updated on that
E71
before. Is that a typical defect?, or it is just my stupidity, lol.
Um, please may I have another query. I previously asked for the
critically
considerations to resolve the whats app encounters with talks. Does
anyone
have experienced any significant evolvements with that?.
Best Wishes.
Its always hope that gives meaning to life.
