  Hi Barbra.

It depends on the website. If its a full blown graphical website then yes,
2G would be quite slow, however on a text only page then you shouldn't
experience too many problems. It depends on the complexity of the underlying
code, the number of dependant objects IE graphics, sounds and so on that have
to be rendered etc etc.

  All the best, Ibrahim.

    Hi Ibrahim

So for someone say just going online on their mobile to do something like
update Twitter or check the news or sports results, would 2G be slow enough to
cause frustration? I know that depends on the person's patience, but I am sure
you know what I mean.#

      Hi Barbra.

Firstly, 3g is only going to speed up internet, it has nothing what ever
to do with text messaging. GPRS or general packet radio system has been a
basic source of internet access for quite some time now and can only deliver
speeds similar to those of dialup internet access. Whilst this may be adequate
for emailing and basic web browsing, 3g offers speeds up to 384 KBPS, meaning
that audio and video streaming becomes possible as well as much faster and
richer internet surfing.

      All the best, Ibrahim.

        Hi Alex

Yes, that's what I understand, but I was wondering how much faster? I
am sure someone will have the answer.

Babs, I'm no expert on this subject, but my understanding is that 3g
is faster for surfing the net, sending text messages etc. I don't relly know
any more than that.

          Cheers

          Alex

          Hi

I know it is difficult to give specifics, but I just wanted some
general feedback. Using Vodafone and I know this depends on network coverage,
signal strength etc, but what is the difference between 3G and 2G speeds? If
browsing the mobile Web, would 2G be very much slower for downloading webpages
and content?

          Thanks.
