M" making work pay credit

  hi all,

Earlier I mentioned the "making work pay" stimulus payment, available via
your income filing form this year.

here's a short explanation as to why those receiving certain governmental
benefits are not eligible:

"So, in its infinite wisdom, Congress came up with another Rube Goldberg
machine,
which resulted in the IRS having to create Schedule M.
If you are working AND receiving Social Security, Supplemental Security,
Veterans'
benefits, or RailRoad Retirement benefits, the amount of your maximum Making
Work
Pay $400 credit is reduced by the $250 Economic Recovery Payment you got
(last year)."

here's the entire web site explaining it:

sorry for getting anyone's hopes up too much.
