Re: Lynn's comment about the size of the paper. It is smaller in width than it used to be and has been that way for about 2 years, I think. It was explained when it happened that it was going in the same direction as many other newspapers, perhaps to use less newsprint. I don't remember at that time that it mentioned that subscriptions were down.

All newspapers are struggling now because the the Internet. The economy isn't helping any either. Add revenues are down along with subscriptions. Why bother to subscribe when I can get it for free on the Net. Why advertise my services in the paper when subscriptions are down. Newspapers need to come up with another business plan to increase revenue.Have you just picked up the paper lately? The size has shrunk to almost nothing.I just found out a a friend of mine just got laid off from the local paper. Everyone seems to be asked to do more with less.----- Original Message ----- From: "Allison and Chip Orange" <acorange@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <tabi@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, July 19, 2009 3:13 PM Subject: [tabi] Re: Tallahassee democratI know Charles, and I agree.it's no New York Times, but then again, we have very few people paying for subscriptions; so, it does what it can on the budget it has. And, there'sno better source of local news. it's a popular sport here in Tally though to knock the paper. -----Original Message-----From: tabi-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:tabi-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On BehalfOf Charles Atkins Sent: Sunday, July 19, 2009 2:40 PM To: tabi@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [tabi] Re: Tallahassee democrat Wouldn't that observation classify as: political on TABI?
