I was out riding busses yesterday. The two routes I was on had the software to
make the bus talk. The bus routes were Gulf and Tall Timbers. Sense this was
my first time experiencing such technology, I didn’t know what to expect . It
is a clear female voice loud enough to hear over the noise of the bus and
traffic. The software announced certain intersections such as Magnolia and
Miccosukee and Gaines and Monroe. When the bus pulled into the gate, the
software announced the gate number.
This may be a slow roll out of the technology but it is a good start.
The city commission and Star Metro should be commended for this.
