I wholeheartedly agree! My route, the Red Hills also had the automated
announcements for major stops such as Capital Circle Northeast and Mahan and
Capital Circle and Park. I'm hopeful that all stops will be incorporated into
this program, not just the major ones. While the voice quality was audible,
clear and at a nice level, the announcements were a bit untimely (too close to
the actual stop) to give much in the way of an advance notification. I plan to
call StarMetro authorities to commend them on this achievement and offer my
A thousand mile journey is concord, one step at a time!
p.s. I've also had word that the Forest, Evergreen, and Tall Timbers also had
the automated announcements.

Subject: [tabi] Talking busses
I was out riding busses yesterday. The two routes I was on had the software
to make the bus talk. The bus routes were Gulf and Tall Timbers. Sense this
was my first time experiencing such technology, I didn’t know what to expect .
It is a clear female voice loud enough to hear over the noise of the bus and
traffic. The software announced certain intersections such as Magnolia and
Miccosukee and Gaines and Monroe. When the bus pulled into the gate, the
software announced the gate number.
This may be a slow roll out of the technology but it is a good start.
The city commission and Star Metro should be commended for this.
