Thanks Stacia; it is interesting, but I'm afraid it doesn't belong on TABI. if we let everything political, which was interesting to someone be posted on here, we'd be over-run with political info. ------------------------------ Chip Orange Database Administrator Florida Public Service Commission Chip.Orange@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (850) 413-6314 (Any opinions expressed are solely those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the Florida Public Service Commission.) ________________________________ From: tabi-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:tabi-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Woolverton, Stacia Sent: Wednesday, October 28, 2009 9:43 AM To: tabi@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [tabi] FW: Your support is needed in this! This message was forwarded to me by a friend. I don't usually send on line petitions, but this one does appear to be from a real Congressman, even if he is from outside my district. So far, it's the only forum I've seen for emphasizing the disparity in the bogus health plans being pushed by Washington. I've individually written the Whitehouse, my state senators and representatives and even Nancy Pelosi, all to no avail. It is unconscionable that elected officials feel they should not be held to the same standard forced on the taxpayers. This petition seems to be a last ditch effort to make our concerns heard....Ron T. ________________________________ Since our elected officials seem to go their own way after being elected, it appears time, once again, to begin taking control of our government, our country and our future! IF this kind of medical care is good enough for US, the taxpayers, then it ought to be good enough for those who voted for it! Right? HR 615 On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a two-page amendment, courtesy of Republican Tom Coburn which would require all Members of Congress and their staff members to enroll in any new government-run health plan. Louisiana Congressman John Fleming has proposed an amendment that would require Congressmen and Senators to take the same health care plan that they would force on us. (Under proposed legislation they are exempt.) Senator Coburn and Congressman Fleming are both physicians. Regardless of your political beliefs, it sure seems reasonable that Congress should have exactly the same medical coverage that they impose on the rest of us. Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go to his Website and sign his petition. The process is very simple. I have done just that at: http://fleming.house.gov/index.html <http://fleming.house.gov/index.html <http://fleming.house.gov/index.html> > . Please urge as many people as you can to do the same! ________________________________ Windows 7: I wanted more reliable, now it's more reliable.
