As a confirmed sound forge user, I would have to agree with all you say. Sound Forge has a lot of things I use because I have some very specific needs in my studio, but for editing voice overs and other voice programs, SR is really nice. I really love the ability to speed up a recording and hear it in less time. But, I am a voice coach also, so one of the things that speeding up the recording does is really amplify how much or how little you vary the pitch of your voice when you are speaking. It also shows up things like choppy speech where there are lots of unnatural pauses, because you are hearing all of the speech in a very rapid format and any of those things as well as others, can really be noticed. I bet no one has ever given that as an excuse for using Studio Recorder, but it works. Sound recording software is a bit of a niche item, and I am sure Larry and Rob could do a much better job than me on a Studio Recorder tutorial. In terms of comparisons, I guess over the years, Sound Forge has become a bit bloated. It's good software, however things like the ease with which you can rewind while playing in a file, the really good time compression, the audible level meter, the easy easy way you can do drop-ins, the 100% accessibility of the software, the sound on sound, are just things off the top of my head that make me use SR more than any other recording software I have. All the best. I have used very basic features for podcasting, but I am sure I don't use 80% of the programs capabilities. I would also be curious in more of your thoughts comparing Studio Recorder and Sound Forge and the pros and cons of each, etc. Thus far I have just used the trials/betas of each, and I have also played around with Gold Wave. One thing I didn't like about GoldWave is the nonstandard keystrokes though I'm sure with use I could learn it. Thanks.. Mika
