Rob, the nice thing about not using capital X is that I then have both ways
at my fingertips. I think this is a life changing moment in SR for me. I
have often had a hard time hearing the beginnings of soft words with just
the arrow or Function key scrubbing. The looping with control makes this
much more audible. I suggest that people might want to check this out. It's
likely what I will use from now on.

If you prefer to use your old way, you can hit X (capital X) to toggle
looping of pixel scrubbing. The down side is you need to hit Escape or F4 to
stop it.

Rob. No wonder you are King of SR and surrounding territories. That works
like a charm. Thank you, sir. I did try increasing both parameters, and I
got further away from the sound I wanted. 0.02 works like a charm when both
times are set to it. It is also easier to hear where you are in the word
than simply using the arrow keys because the control modifier causes it to
loop. Oh, and by the way, I did this with JAWS on and I used the arrow keys
with control. So, we can squash that myth. Of course, older versions of JAWS
may still have the problem.
Thanks for the magic solution.

Neal, simple solution. Try setting your Scrub Move Time and Scrub Play Time
to the same value. You might try 0.02 for each as a start.
