Individual clerics may be representatives of their deity, but their
personalities aren't that of the deity. There's no telling of how Artor views
Sean until some manifestation of his feelings, like the snow Pharub used to
keep Sean and his friends safe, manifests. And nobody knows Elmore's
interaction with his deity or his deity's agents, much like how nobody knows
Carandolana's interactions with The Weaver.

Sean perhaps spoke in haste. Speaker Greenmantle is a high ranking cleric in
service to the same God Sean worships. It gives Sean pause at every instance
they have conflict, but Sean falls back on the rugged individualism aspect of
his Lord, and behaves accordingly. It is peculiar that he is probably held in
higher regard by the church of Farab and the servants of
She-Who-Weaves-Everything than he is by the hierarchy of the church dedicated
to the God he worships, and, indeed, champions.

Sean could not care less about Elmore’s perspective.

From Elmore’s own perspective, it sounded very much like Sean was plotting
out a work around on losing his ranger status. Actually plotting to kill a man
for being an ass and excessively wealthy. Neither warranting a death. Elmore
might not have known for a fact that Sean wouldn’t kill such a self entitled
man if he felt he could justify it. Purposely trigger an attack so he could
lethally defend himself. Elmore could imagine how easy it would be to do and
could not very well just sit and know of this plotting without calling him out
on it. It’s what preachers do sometimes, the tough sermons that don’t fill the
offering plates with feel good emotions but moral obligations and standards
people need to be reminded of whether they hurt sometimes or not. An adulterer
won’t like a sermon against adultry, and a spouse plotting to kill their other
half won’t like one against murder. Coveting people’s things and position
especially to the point of theft. There are some on faith that put people far
short of the mark.
If one is a church goer and never feels a bit of shame for any of their
pastor’s sermons, maybe they are living really righteous or maybe they are
lying to themselves and not attending an actual church that preaches Bible but
just a social club for people to show up and feel good about themselves when
they leave.

would be upset at fulfilling his role in the party than he would imagine
truculently deciding he'd fired enough arrows for the group, and they'd have to
learn to get by on a ten shot per day limit while in the field.
He has venom for Hutton because he feels regrets for letting Ohlen down.
Regardless of what really happened, Ohlen's death haunts him. That is a
grudge. His response to Elmore isn't a grudge, it's being more stubborn than
anyone else. It was easy to do when Gwyn was in the group, and has become
easier again with Pomeroy being detached and seconded to our little slice of
heaven. There were days when he went around slightly wounded still, relying on
natural healing and time, rather than ask Elmore for help. Elmore made his
position clear, and Sean respected it. Stubbornness, but not a grudge. Again,
perhaps to the point of making him choke on it, but nonetheless, no grudge, by
the classical definition of a grudge. Sean is far more angry about Elmore
intimating he was little more than a cold blooded murderer. Sean's belief in
Elmore's freedom to dictate how his powers be used is absolute. Sean's belief
that Elmore had no right or cause to label him a murderer is also absolute,
and, teasing aside, Sean will not forget that. There is you grudge.

Yes, so it’s obviously an out of character observation. The human can hold

packed for a longer trip.

As for the balancing of costs and benefits, we are all capable of doing so.
And to think Sean heard the Ode to Joy when he learned of the ring (a la
the bad guys when they opened the vault in Nakatomi Plaza). Now he wants
nothing to do with it.

I get the reason why y'all want the ring on a front line fighter. Remember,

And I don't seem to remember much support for Carandolana from the party.
Holly will have her back, but the rest of the party is off doing their own
things.
Carandolana is *not* a rogue. She's a druid/scout. The only rogue I know of
in first edition is a character class I created as a halfway point between
fighter and thief.

Elmore is of the opinion that Sean or Ahearn would make best use of the
ring . They both often function as our scouts away from all other support. A
Hold Person or a number of other movement affecting Magic’s or effects could
slay both of them if they are out on their own. Carandolana usually has at
least some support from group or she’s in a form not recognized as a target.
That said, I do think we should be considering Cara for a choice magic in
the near future. Elmore has received two particularly good magic items in his
career here, his mace and his ring of spell turning. His other two rings are
very circumstantial (water) in how often he’d use them. He keeps the ring of
water breathing on as his second normally worn ring. He can swim normally, just
may not be as strong a swimmer as our fighters and he hates seeing the party
sell off a useful magic someone could use which is what he thought the party
was going to do with the ring of swimming unless someone spoke for it. He does
have a magic shield he upgraded from on his last magic shield. Here’s a thought
though, and might run it by Cara and see what she thinks. She can’t wear metal
armor, but I’m wondering if she could wear enchanted dragon scale mail or if
that would even be an interest as she isn’t just a Druid, she’s also a rogue.
Not being made out of metal, I wonder how much that would affect her stealth.
There is an old best of dragon magazine that details dragon scale mail. The
bonus against the dragon’s breath weapon or the type of damage isn’t great if I
recall, but it is something ordinary armor doesn’t have. She’s had to pay for
nearly all her gear out of pocket. If the armor is something she’d be
interested in, it might not hurt if we each chipped in a bit to help pay for
the enchantment so she’s not fully out of pocket to get something she could
use. Steve of course might have arbitration on how much it costs for the armor
to be made then enchanted, as well as effects on stealth.
