Oh I do game usually once a year SFB with my friend in between
russian campaign/fortrus europe ect. I live below the mason dixon line and
have most of the ships of most of the races and some of the books. We use
a floating map and create scenarios most of the times so we are not just
blasting each other but ad challenges while blasting each other lol. I
enjoy flying Klingons but good with any race. My friend usually takes
feds.

The Picard maneuver had nothing to do with 3d and everything to do with
misdirection.
I always hated Picard in combat. Quite possibly the definition of
indecision and delay. He'd order a course change, then change his mind.
And he had that pathetically designed Enterprise D. I became convinced
that Federation paint schemes actually outlined the 'starboard power
coupling' in Fluorescent green, so everybody and their mother knew where to
shoot. Like the WWII French Char 1bis tank, with that gray and green camo
scheme, but the utterly ridiculous decision to outline their radiator in
white, their radiator being the weakest chink in their armor, which they
nicely highlighted for any gunner to naturally target.
And let's not talk about the fleet combat scenes from DS9. Talk about a
lack of three dimensional thinking. Masses of ships, grouped close
together, attacking as if in a tabletop miniatures game. When anybody who
ever played Star Fleet Battles knows, keeps them too closely packed, for
when their antimatter drives explode, causing a spectacular cascading
destruction of your fleet.

Ok, there seem to be five small piles of
stone maybe 1' by 2' or so. They are about 8 to 10 feet apart. They are
arranged in a 3 x 2 arrangement. Most of the stones would fit in your
hands. Well at least Johnny Mac's or Seans. A few would take both hands.
Nothing above 30 or 40 lbs. They have been here for a while. There are some
game tails through here. No recent tracks of ogres, giants, or wyrms. A
light rain is now falling.
