I'm assuming the man is a professional, but odd to bring in the father of a guy
who may not stick on our practice squad this year

More moves - Cody White's dad is coming from Detroit to work with Weidl.

Yes, he spent some time in New Orleans as well and did a lot of scouting
administration and grunt work during that time. I really like the Weidl hire,
so many people I’ve spoken to hold him in high regard, looking forward to
finding out just what other moves have been made and changes to the structure
of the scouting department too.

Good to hear that Omar has been expanding his talents over the years.

So my source was right - don’t look at the surface of this that Khan will be
the cap guy and Weidl will be the personnel guy, I know that Omar has become
increasingly involved on the personnel side as well as time has gone on and
remember, some of the league's high flying GM’s such as Brandon Beane in
Buffalo and Brett Veitch in Kansas City started out on the football
administration side before moving into GM jobs.
I’m happy, the search was thorough and this is the result. And Doug Whaley
didn’t get either job, which was the only thing I was fearful of.

Khan is obviously liked by the organization and coveted by others. His flaw is
his lack of football knowledge if the Steelers were looking for a Colbert
clone. With his alleged hire they needed a football guy. Once they decided on
Khan did they choose between Wiedle over Hunt for Assistant or was Hunt offered
the job and turned it down. I am sure we will never know, but curious.

Khan is in. Looks like Hunt is on the way out?
