I shared this a few X through the years, I watched the draft with Dave, Emma
and Dave’s brother and SIL at his brother’s house in suburban Detroit more than
a few years ago. Dave’s predictive abilities were in full force and effect. I
think he was 29-31 in making the next pick in Round 1.

When they do illogical things that I can’t see any benefit in (such as last
years trade that gave this years 4th round pick up so they could draft
Loudermilk in the 5th) that’s when I’ll go off. I said back then that round 4
this year would be a goldmine thanks to the super seniors who got an extra year
of eligibility because of the covid disruption and I was proven right - that’s
why the Ravens thought about this, lined things up and currently have 5 picks
in that round, they saw what was coming.
If it’s a QB tonight, then that’s okay, but they better ace the next 6 rounds
and fill the needs they are bypassing with their first pick. I’d still use the
full 10 minutes and wait to see what trade offers come in though……

That is an understatement. If he picks a QB, half the fan base will be mad that
he picked a QB, and most of the rest will be mad that he picked the “wrong”
one. It should be an interesting night indeed!

Honestly, I'm so excited for tonight, mainly because I have *no idea* what's
about to happen. Last year you knew it was Najee. This year? They could trade
up. Stay put. Go for one of like 4 different positions. Colbert has an amazing
opportunity to tick off most of the fan base tonight, then be proven right 5

spoken - correctly - that Houston are a wild card at 3 and Carolina could be a
wild card at 6, especially if they want to trade down for more picks and a QB,

round three and five picks in round four and they can trade them for picks next
year or use them to move up to catch a falling star in round one. Just
incredible. I hate them, but even more so at this time each year because you
know they are going to do very well.
I can’t wait to see where George Pickens goes, of all the receivers in this
draft, he’s the one that will make the most noise - on and off the field.
Looking forward to seeing who the Chiefs pick up at WR. Ditto Green Bay,
hilarity may ensue if the Packers pass on a receiver again in round one.
The Jets and Giants both have two picks in the top ten… and yet I don’t know
who they could pick that would constitute a successful evening for them. They
are both teams you analyse the draft effort in totality for, but all I see is
DB’s and tackles linked to them (especially after they both picked tackles in
the top ten recently, too) and am completely underwhelmed. Maybe it’s just a
bad year to have a top ten pick if you want to find players who can turn your
franchise around quickly, especially when the jury is out on whether your QB’s
can play at this level or not.
When Kyle Hamilton gets selected and they show that interception he made this
past season against Florida State on his highlight real, please remember that
there are probably less than 5 players on the planet who can make that play.
He’s one of them and he’s special.
Matt Araiza is getting all the publicity as the top punter in the draft, but
Jordan Stout and Jake Camarda are also Pro Bowl calibre punters too. Stout may
even be above Araiza on some teams boards.
