Two weeks since the St ACRC AGM .
Thanks to everyone who came along and to those who sent their apologies.
Ian very kindly stepped in at very short notice to ably Convene the Meeting .
Steve stepped down as Convenor .
As the Club visionary ,he found great sources for funding and has enabled us to
build and equip not one but THREE skiffs .
No mean feat .
We are indebted .
Alice stepped down as Treasurer .
We owe her a great debt of gratitude for coping cheerfully with complicated
accounts
over the years as the skiff were built ,materials were purchased and invoices
poured in.
Clayton's two year term as Captain came to an end.
He steered us through some very difficult times and has left us
with an incredibly vibrant and successful Club.

As the new season begins Julie and I are very aware of the tremendous
privilege and responsibility the Club has entrusted us with .
We follow in the huge footsteps of the Club's first Captain .
We are working really hard to maintain his standards .
I am incredibly grateful to have Julie as my Vice Captain.
We know we work well together and have the same sense of humour ....
Our aim is for St Andrews Coastal Rowing Club to be open,transparent
cohesive ,friendly and successful.
This year the more you put into the Club the more you will get out .
The Club can no longer sustain the " Turn up ,Row and Go" members .
We need commitment and reliability from EVERYONE .
Having spoken with many of you I understand you want to concentrate on
ROWING this season !!
This has started already with extra and different sessions plus the
option to organise your own crew and take out a skiff when one is available .
If a plea goes out for crew please TRY to fill the gap , even if it means doing
shore .
This will mean fewer sessions being cancelled .
If you were at the AGM you will know the rowing £1 has been increased to £2
If you bring along a visitor the fee is £4.
Members will be totally responsible for their guest .
Safety ,lifting and handling and rowing !
Membership numbers are looking healthy .
The first taster session of the season was held last weekend in glorious
weather .
Several of the Tasters have asked for application forms to be sent .
We also have visitors keen to join AND some members from other Clubs !
The plan is to limit the Taster Sessions this season so we are not swamped .
Each new member will be allocated a Buddy to help them settle in .

First regatta is on May 6th in Anstruther .

The Wemyss Skiff will be ready for turning on Monday 8th May at 7:30 pm in the
garage .
All members are invited by the building team for drinks .
