Wildfinder
Today's site, from the World Wildlife Fund, offers a clever interactive tool to
locate a variety of animals around the globe. Gentle Subscribers will discover
a useful resource in keeping with the WWF's ethos of increasing public
awareness of the importance of animal life.

With its constantly expanding database, Wildfinder delivers a useful guide for
locating hundreds of species from among the general categories of mammals,
amphibians, reptiles, and birds. Offering both Search by Species or Place, the
Wildfinder delivers more than simply a location. Along with a detailed map and
information about characteristics and habitat, the database also includes the
current threat rating for a species. Striking images accompany each entry. In
addition, easy access is available to dozens more animals which reside in the
same location, while descriptions of specific habitat locales are also
provided.
