Smart AudioBook Player - Software of the Month
With the increasing popularity of audiobooks, one of the few growth areas in
the publishing industry, a satisfactory device to play these files becomes
essential. Even as companies abandon the standalone MP3 player as long time
manufacturer Sanza has recently announced, cellphones / mobiles have swooped in
to fill the gap. While there are reservations about using a cellphone for such
a purpose, the cellphone as uber device continues to expand its role.
Into this niche, Ukrainian programmer Alex Kravchenko has stepped in with one
of the most highly praised apps of audiobook devotees. Smart AudioBook Player
for Android devices offers a range of features demanded by audiobook fans --
easy bookmarking capabilities, the option to switch from one book to another
without losing the appropriate place for each, and the ability to alter the
narration speed without an increase resulting in an Alvin and the Chipmunks
voice are among its attributes.
Smart AudioBook Player has become so popular among diehard audiobook listeners
that many have given up on inadequate MP3 players to scour the after market for
inexpensive unlocked phones to pair with this Android app. With both free and
paid versions -- the full version is available for a 30 day trial -- many users
opt to continue with the paid version since its modest price is less than a cup
of coffee. Frequently updated, the latest release became available November 27,
2016 with improvements to the Library search function.
