50 Rescue Stories Across America
Today's site, from photographer Theron Humphrey, presents his inspirational
project to publicize the benefits of adopting pets from shelter organizations.
Gentle Subscribers will find heartwarming accounts of the people and their
rescued pets, one story from each of the 50 states.
"Why We Rescue is a yearlong story-telling documentary that is traversing
across all 50 states highlighting how pets transform our lives for the better.
This project is an opportunity to share everyday stories on how those pets can
open our homes and hearts to the world. ... Along the way we are telling one
shelter/rescue pet story in each state." - from the website
With a focus primarily audio and photo based, the presentation features
individual oral accounts from each of the pet owners displayed on the home
page. A click on one of the pictures links to a photo essay accompanied by an
audio interview chronicling the story behind each. From rabbits to horses, to
the more expected cats and dogs, the project spotlights the relationships these
owners have with the pets they have rescued.
