10 Good Movies Ruined By Bad Endings

Today's site, from the independent entertainment news publication Screen Rant,
offers a steely-eyed look at films with terrible endings. Gentle Subscribers,
possibly exhausted from an overdose of retail exposure, will find a soothing
level of comfort in reliving some of these expensive boondoggles.

"Whether writing a movie, TV series, novel, or any other form of storytelling,
one fact rises above all: endings are hard. The sentiment is proven on a yearly
basis, as countless films deliver an intriguing premise, compelling action, or
powerful messages, only to fumble with the closing act. Sometimes, the film's
climax can be so poorly executed, it leaves audiences wondering whether the
events that preceded it were even worth the trouble. ... Our list ... shows
that strong films can still succeed despite a flawed climax, but in our
opinion, they would be even more beloved if their conclusions were just as
flawless."- from the website

With an opening six minute clip illuminating the films whose endings are
regarded as ultimately disappointing, the article's text and photos continue
beneath the section highlighting trending videos. Each of the ten movies under
the microscope are examined for their inadequate final minutes, how they went
wrong, along with a few suggestions of better alternatives. Among the films
which made the list are few surprises -- I Am Legend, The Wolverine, and A.I.
Artificial Intelligence. The article has provoked many remarks with comments
reaching almost 1300 since its spring publication.

Cautionary Note: Since this is a feature focused on movie endings, it is
spoiler rich; those who've always intended to watch 2001 someday might give it
a miss.
