Hello Lawrence,
For some reason I've not encountered this problem, however the suggestion
Momanyi sent immediately Ngondi raised the issue to click on the Stop button
located in the first few lines of the homepage appears to have been helpful.
If you still encounter this challenge, even after this change, then you can try
a second option, i.e. to stop the page from refreshing automatically, though
this might cause trouble in other pages, and you should [if this second
suggestion works], ensure you use the personalized web settings feature for the
changes to affect this site/page only.
To make the changes,
press jaws key/insert + 6 [the 6 on th number row].
This is the settings center specific to whichever web browser you use.
Write the word refresh, and you'll be provided a list of possibilities, select
"page refresh filter", [I think it is the only one].
Tab once to the section that will enable you make changes and press space bar
to navigate through the choices, they are three, i.e. refresh as needed, after
every 60 seconds and the last one " suppress all refresh etc, not sure of the
wording.
Select this last, and tab to ok.
Try this only if the suggestion from Momanyi does not work.
To make personalized web settings, I've copied these from the internet Help
topics section of Jaws Help:
****
Press INSERT+V to open the Quick Settings dialog box. Focus is in the Search
edit box.
Press DOWN ARROW to move to the Quick Settings tree view.
Press P to move to the Personalize Web Settings group. If necessary, press
RIGHT ARROW to expand the group.
Press DOWN ARROW to move to the different options and groups within Personalize
Web Settings, and press SPACEBAR to make changes.
After making all necessary changes, press TAB to move to the OK button and then
press SPACEBAR to save changes and exit Quick Settings.
***
Hope this helps.
Once again, please try the first option as it appears to have worked for a
number of people.
Thanks and best regards
Jimmy.

Hey colleagues, this 'alert' business goes away for a little while, then when
you search for something it comes back. Anyone found a way of removing the
alert completely?
