Let me join in sharing this concern. Personally, I was an ardent listener of
the talking books but sadly this technology is or has been by passed by
events. My suggestion would be an upgrade to bring cd/dvd talking books and
also add more value by including blind friendly movies.
As for the staff the KSB personnel can easily perform this duty. We can use
the same model where these books can be accessed on particular days.
SOPVID might want to discuss this issue further with the management. At the end
of the day we require a homegrown solution to our local issues.

Hello SOPVID colleagues
Some of you may over the years have gained both pleasure and knowledge
from audiobooks borrowed from the library housed at Kenya Society for
the Blind.
I am writing to ask all of us whether there is anything we might do to
save the library. In recent times, most members have stopped borrowing
from that library because the bulk of its books are on cassettes which
clearly is a dying technology. At the same time, the volunteers who
manage the library have gradually become fewer and fewer and very soon
that volunteer service too may come to an end.
The question I ask is: should we simply leave this service to die or
is there something we can do about it?
