I am on board with canceling the picnic this year.

I agree with Dick. I think we should really consider canceling the picnic. We
do not know what the future holds and, if we wait too long, it could cause a
hardship on the organization and attendees.

It is my opinion that we should postpone our picnic AND the raffle until
next year. This opinion is based on the following:
At this late date we are already BEHIND in our efforts to sell raffle
tickets and even if we start at a later date, we don't have the time nor the
opportunities to sell them as we normally do, thus causing us to not have
enough tickets sold to even come close to breaking even. The proceeds of the
raffle is intended to help finance our picnic and certainly not for incurring a
loss. If we also cancel the picnic we do not have the cost of the band or the
park , thus just moving everything to next year.
Instruments for the raffle are all purchased .and can be held over for next
year at no cost to us. I'm sure I can secure Danny for next year and I have no
doubt we can do the same with Hershaull Park. Everyone is in the same boat on
this situation so am sure we will have no costs incurred to do this.
If a vote is needed , I vote to CANCEL both the raffle and picnic for this
year and do it all next year the same as we would have done this year. Too many
of us are Seniors and a lot of us would have reservations about attending even
if restrictions have been lifted by then. We will NOT just start to go back to
normal once restrictions are lifted.

I wanted to send a note to all of you and get your input to the Covid 19
situation and our annual picnic. Having just read the letter from Bluegrass on
the Grass that postponed their festival for a year, do we want to consider the
same? At this point Danny Paisley is our entertainment. Hershall park is
scheduled for July 25th all day, Grandpa's country kitchen is our caterer. The
raffle tickets are ready to go to the printer and should be sent by May 1st.
All instruments are purchased for the raffle and are in out possession. Please
let me know your wishes by May 1st. Please remember, that most of the members
of out organization are over 65 years of age. Best regards Geo
