Friends - Good morning.
I will print off our final decisions on this matter and place them in the
Secretary's book.
Some additional thoughts, opinion.
1. Frankly, I believe I would opt for a well-drafted letter explaining our
thought process behind this cancellation. I tend to think of our members as
our customers at this event so the more a customer understands the "why" of
something the better. However, can live with either the letter or the phone
call. Just think a letter is a better way - I still read a paper copy of the
newspaper!
2. Hopefully a Board meeting can be scheduled for the early part of this
Summer as we may have to discuss our upcoming Concert season. It is possible
that there may be some limitations put on crowd size, the fire company may have
some limitations on use of their facility, etc. Not trying to throw more wet
water, but we may have to have a backup plan. Frankly, I would not go to a
baseball game this Summer should it open, and am rethinking one of the
Festivals I go to for a week. Just not sure at this time.
Hope everyone is well.
Glen

George, You have done a wonderful job as usual with everything regarding the
picnic. I know it is a tough decision to make this decision. I agree with the
general consensus that it is best to cancel for this year. I feel certain our
members will understand and will probably be relieved that they do not have to
make the decision to stay home.
I think a letter should be drafted to inform the members of our plans and
mailed to them. This way they won't be wondering what we are doing as some will
not be Facebook followers or have access to the website.
Jean if you are not comfortable going to the printer to pick up said letter, I
would be happy to pick them up as well as the envelopes and send them myself.
We can discuss the best way to do this, if you like.
I am also canceling the board meeting in May.
Thank you all for your input and my prayers for your continued health and
wellbeing are fervent. Ursula

I wanted to send a note to all of you and get your input to the Covid 19
situation and our annual picnic. Having just read the letter from Bluegrass on
the Grass that postponed their festival for a year, do we want to consider the
same? At this point Danny Paisley is our entertainment. Hershall park is
scheduled for July 25th all day, Grandpa's country kitchen is our caterer. The
raffle tickets are ready to go to the printer and should be sent by May 1st.
All instruments are purchased for the raffle and are in out possession. Please
let me know your wishes by May 1st. Please remember, that most of the members
of out organization are over 65 years of age. Best regards Geo
