What's worse, even after reddio is installed with pip and after jq is
installed which is a dependency not installed by pip, it's not possible to
login to reddit using reddio.
running reddio logi
gets you the message to visit an url and even if you do visit the url and
login and authorize reddio the authorization isn't held for subsequent
logins.
I didn't study python when working for the Government otherwise I could
do something about this.

All reddit clients except for reddio are now defunct and have been
abandoned.
The giara reddit client is available for the desktop and several web-based
apps are available.
I have yet to find a web app that will work correctly even using firefox.
Mastedon now has nothing available for other than web apps to use on linux
and that may be what replaces twitter.
