Hi,
You can exchange files from/to the VM just using magic-whormhole which is
installed if the VM if you install it also in the host. Just type:
wormhole send jacepkgs.txt
and follow the instructions in the output.
Just don't close the terminal before you get the file on the host (which will be
confirmed in the VM).
You can also do that to transfer files between machines as long as they are both
connected to the Internet.
Also, to write an ISO in a stick you can just use cp:
cp <path to the ISO> <drive like /dev/sdb>
cat should work too:
cat <path to the ISO> > <drive like /dev/sdb>
I tried the first command, not the second one yet.
As usual, be very careful not to write on the wrong drive, even ore so as cp and
cp can be used by a regular users...

optical disk guru.

I am getting the same issues with emacspeak 55 on my Arch machine as well, so
I'm not sure it's a Slint issue actually, I'm not sure if emacspeak 57.x broke
things, or something,or if it's hardware specific on my end due to two
versions
of emacspeak both breaking
That's good to know about Ventoy as well, I've got that iso on my stick now
and
don't need to futz around with dd or etcher
