As Tom has an internet based Hotmail account, the first thing I would
suggest is that he changes his password immediately - he should be able to
do this from any computer with an internet connection. Also, if he suspects
his PC has become infected with a virus he will want to verify that whatever
anti-virus program he runs is up to date and do a complete scan

I have emailed Tom regarding all the emails it appears that he is sending
out.
At the moment he is in Agentina, having rreturned from a trip to the
Antartic. Obviously he has had his email addresses hacked in to but feels
that he cannot do any thing about it at this present time. if any one has
any advice I can email him, in the meantime just delete all his emails with
no subject
