If you take care, upgrading from 10.2 to -current should work just fine.

It *should* work (Note: My -current system has no 64bit glibc installed)
but keep in mind:

- There is no gcc-4.0 biarch compiler yet

- glibc for ppc64 also hasn't been upgraded.
  You could have the new ppc32 and the old
  ppc64 glibc installed without much conflict
  (Well: They both will ship with a different
   version of ldd, ldconfig + some other stuff..
   but this is a minor issue)

- epoll does now work on 32 bit ;-)
