Looks like an endian-issue :-/ ..
artsd itself works fine (mplayer -ao arts).. just the kdemultimedia
junk doesn't ..
Maybe Slackintosh should drop KDE support and include Gnome?! ;-)

Oh, did you upgrade from Slackintosh 10.2 ?
The QT Package from 10.2 was named 3.4.2, but in fact it should be
called 3.3.4 ...
Just removepkg the old qt package and install the new from -current.
