Stieg Larsson's first novel in the Millennium trilogy (mentioned before) has now been published in Britain. The Girl with the Dragoon Tattoo seems to get very favourable reviews. The Times and the Guardian agree in praise. E g:

As you may know, Stieg Larsson was also an sf fan (I knew him many years before be began writing fiction) and in later years became Sweden's perhaps leading expert on neo-nazism. His books have outsold almost everything in Scandinavia in later years (I think he has sold more - at least here - than J K Rowling, at least in single book comparison) and has sold well in eg Germany and France. But he didn't live to see it, alas. (Another sad thing is that his surviving common-law-wife Eva doesn't get a penny from the success. A shame, really.)
