It is a short walk from Roma Street and Central Stations, the Adelaide and
Queen Street bus stations, and weekend parking is $5 across the road in the
King George Square carpark.
Who: Sisters in Crime, and all interested crime writers and readers.
Cost: Free (if you’re not eating or drinking.)

1.. Exercise: Please bring an idea for our quick crime composition. (your
word / topic / sentence / crime will be written on a piece of paper, dropped
into the hat and one will be drawn out for a quick 15-minute writing exercise.
Afterwards members can share their flash fiction with the group if they want.)
* Please bring your writing implements.
Topic for discussion: Scarlet Stiletto Entries
For our writers: For the last 30-minutes members can read out 1000-words of
a story you're considering entering in to the Scarlet Stiletto Awards. We are
an inclusive group, so whether you’re published or putting your first words on
a page, our Sisters are supportive and give general and encouraging feedback.
Entries close 31 August 2018.
*Also, a discussion on who can assist with areas of running Sisters in Crime
Qld as well as any ideas you would like discussed such as competitions, guest
speakers etc.
We now have a designated Sisters in Crime Qld email address. Please email with
any details you would like included in the newsletter / facebook page, or your
successes, book launches, workshops, courses, and anything crime related, as
well as all inquiries. We still need a Sister or two who can assist in
monitoring this email address even if only occasionally:

Sisters in Crime Queensland is again committed to providing the Liz Navratil
Award for the Best Short Story with a Disabled Protagonist in the Scarlet
Stilettos. We will soon be asking for donations for our award funds, as we are
currently about $200 short of our promised prize money. Please consider
donating, even if only $10. Details of bank account will be forwarded to you
soon.
Meetings are always held on the 2nd Saturday of the month unless otherwise
notified. Please mark these dates in your diary.
