Hi Ed,
I could not find anything with that date. Here's another photo Ifound of
Sinatra on "Music That Satisfies"
I went into the LOC radio list. Looked through all the shows they have from
1945. Found the Frank from 7-10-45, when he subbed for Perry. Johhny Johnson
was on quite a few shows in July, August and September. LOC has 69shows fron
1945. But none from March 45. Frank would not have been on in June because of
his USO Tour.New Yorker did a profile of Monica Lewis in June of 2015. She died
the following week. Monica was set to co-starwith Frank in his follow up film
to "Meet Danny Wilson. U.A. pulled the plug after MDW proved to be a major
dis-appointment.Ed

Hi Scott,
I dug out the original post from 2012. The header I used
was3-13-45.
So, I tried to find the source for that date and could not. May have beenthe AP
article, or trade papers, or newspaper. I have quite a few SupperClubs
including
some from 1945. Unfortunately, they are all on cassette -- most are sixto a
tape.
It would require a lot of time to listen to them. There may be a mentionof
Johnston
on some of them.

Hi Ed,
I may be getting closer. I concentrated on the show title"Music That
Satisfies". This ran on April 10th,1945:
i
So, it had be probably February, March or early April 1945 Sinatra might have
substituted on more than one show because the showaired 3 days a week..

Hi Scott,
I posted this to the list on 6/9. There are many shows I listed
almost adecade back
that never got incorporated into the daily history. I try to add a fewwhen
there is a connection
on the list. I first discovered Frank's Supper Club, 7-10-45, at the LOCabout
30 years ago. I
purchased a copy and asked about additional appearances. The library hasa
limited collection
of Supper Clubs. This spring I discovered that the Boston Globe oftenlisted the
host and guests
- if there were any -- on the CBS 15 minute show. I looked through all ofthe
listings from early 1945
right into the fall. Sinatra is never mentioned. Johnston was listed anumber of
times. He was married
to Kathryn Grayson when she filmed "The Kissing Bandit." Therea slew of Supper
Clubs, with Perry
Como, Jo Stafford and Peggy Lee, in circulation. A very interesting showhas
Perry with Nat Cole
as his guest.
The information below comes from an AP article plus very brief
mentionsof Frank subbing
that appeared in Billboards and Varities and a few other
publications.Unfortunately there are no precise
dates. I hope you are able to find exact dates.

Johnston Taken Sick;
Sinatra On Chesterfield
Frank Sinatra batted for Johnny
Johnston last night on the Chesterfield
program over CBS, 7:15-7:30
p.m., EWT and repeat at 11:15 p.m.
Johnston, who was taken ill, may be
off the show indefinitely and Sinatra
will be heard on the program until
he returns. Show is on Tuesday,
Wednesday and Thursday. Paul Baron
conducts the orchestra.
note: Frank subbed three times for Perry Como
on the Supper Club. Perry's father died on 7-8-45
and Frank took over the show on 7-10-45. We
now know he made at least six, maybe more,
appearances on the very popular show. Supper Club
won favorite 15 minute show in Billboard's poll
from February of 1945.
When MGM issued their soundtrack LP of
"The Kissing Bandit," Johnny Johnston subbed
for Frank because Columbia wasn't about to have
"The Voice" warbling on another label.
