Subject: [sinatraphiles] Re: October 20 - THIS DATE IN SINATRA HISTORY
Richard, it could be referring to the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena, which
was an indoor venue next to the LA Coliseum near the USC campus. It was known
locally as the “Sports Arena” and was the site of many, many concerts. It was
also the home of the NBA Lakers & Clippers, and both USC and UCLA basketball.
The Lakers eventually moved to Forum in Inglewood, and the Bruins moved to
Pauley Pavilion on the UCLA campus in Westwood.

A programme on eBay for "Night of Stars October 20, 1966". Seems to be a
benefit for Governor Pat Brown's re-election campaign. Not sure the city based
on the program (venue is called Sports Arena - perhaps San Diego?)
