The last of Frank's 191 Hit Parade appearances. He first appearancewas
with Dorsey in 1940 and he had two extended runs in 43-44 and again from
47 to 49.His swan song was a return after a four and half month
hiatus. He brought along Light-Up co-star Dorothy Kirsten. "MadMen"
might have lost Lucky Strike but Frank kept them after your YHP.They
would sponsor his Light-Up show that ran from Sept. 49 into early
June of 50.
Note: Richmond was all set to have their first annual tobacco festival
on10-15-49. The
American Tobacco Co (lucky Strike) decided to spare no expense tocelebrate the
occasion. They sent Frank, Dorothy Kirsten and Mark Warnow down there forthe
weekend. The two stars of Light Up Time and the arranger/conductor of YHParrived
to a whirlwind of personal appearances at department stores,parades,
and a visit to a cigarette factory. Warnow had brought along the
