Hi Scott,              The Third War Bond Loan Drive ran from September 8 thru 
October 2 in 1943. Nationwide almost $2 billion dollars was raised for the war 
effort.. That is over $34 billionin today money.              Sinatra was 
receiving a lot of heat for not being a member of the armed services. George 
Evans had an answer( he almost always did). Frank became a great sellerof war 
bonds throughout the rest of war. And it made him invaluable to the war deptand 
a much sought after entertainer for bond rallies.Ed
