OldGold was only paying him $2,800 a week. Lorrilard offered him three times
that if he would return to the Hit Parade. I think he made a huge mistake. The
pophits of the late 1940s did not measure up to the great songs Frank so
enjoyedsinging on the Old Gold shows. By 1947 most of the silly skits had gone
