Michael,
I first looked at all my Sibelius Tips and Tricks, but sadly did not find one
discussing importing a MIDI file.
Itâs been years, but I did it a lot, myself, for the very same reason as you.
I know that when you go to the import dialog, there are two pages, and you need
to use Ctrl+Tab to switch to the one for MIDI. Then you need to carefully
consider the smallest note duration that you anticipate needing, so that you
donât end up with horrible tied groups of 64th notes to quarter notes, etc.
Also I recall something about locking the rhythm or turning off Flexi time to
further simplify the end result.
Thatâs all my brain can recall after nearly a decade since Iâve opened up
Sib 5.2.5. And I never did upgrade past Sib 6. Still waiting on Dan Rugmanâs
final promised scripts.
Good luck, and sorry for not being more specific.
