Hello Marée,
Did you say you have Windows 7? If so, then the correct place to copy the
"Sibelius Software" folder (and where you should already see it) is:
C:\Users\dcarlson.SJ-DCARLSON\AppData\Roaming
Where you replace the "dcarlson.SJ-DCARLSON" with your user name.
Hope you get this figured out.

Don't mind my nit-pickiness, just letting you know that I'm paying attention
(smile).
Yeah, it looks like that's where we are up to. I'll have another look at
that AppData path because you did give it to me before and I saved it.
That's the one I have least confidence about but I'll have a slow, hard look
at it.
If not, the next best I can do is wait till my Australian friend can help
with a remote session next week.

Well, sounds like you've copied the JAWS files to the correct location, and
that the registry files have all been run.
If you haven't done so, you can go ahead and also copy the Sibelius folder
from the unzipped package to the location specified in the instructions. Is
that part still clear for you?
There should be no problem doing all this on a Win 7 machine, except that
the path to the folders is different than with XP.
I goofed on the playback window, which I suspect you know by now should be
checked,as well.
If the copying of the Sibelius folder does not fix the problem, you may want
to consider reinstalling Sibelius itself, although that is rather draconian.
However it will not cause you to lose any of your data or your scores. If
you do reinstall Sibelius, you would then want to install Sib-Access just as
the instructions say, right from the beginning.
Wish I could help more, but it seems as though one of your Sib-Access
scripts is misbehaving at this point.

I didn't 'kill' the registry files but indeed I okayed all seven on each
re-run.
I did follow the installation instructions again as you had suggested. But
here's where I'm confused. You say:
Do the following:
1. re-copy the JAWS scripts from the Sib-Access package to your JAWS
settings folder and overwrite all files there.
2. Re-run the registry files from the Sib-Access package.
Cross your fingers and try Sibelius again.
Okay.
It says at point 2 of the installation guide:
2. Open the extracted folder.
This folder contains three folders called JAWS, Sibelius Software and
Registry Keys.
Open the folder called JAWS and copy all of its contents.
Go to Start>Programs > JAWS > Explore JAWS > Explore Shared Settings
Paste the copied files and folders into this folder.
That corelates as far as I know, so that's why I did that. So here's
today's question, if I made a mistake then do I now move these to somewhere
else?
I hesitate to copy into the APPData Roaming place 'cos on the instructions
it said to copy the Sibelius Folder there. I think that's where I was
confused in the first place.
I also unchecked everything in the Windows Menu except for Keypad and
Properties.
Well, at least I get a message saying that the playback window should be
opened so that's re-assuring that something is responding.
Still that other pesky message, "Access Access" and the Dialog still persist
so till that goes, I can't get ahead in Sib Access.
By the way, you were asking about my computer and specs. Is there anything
potentially in compatible with what you see?
Another question:
Is there perhaps an updated set of installation instructions that I have
missed somewhere that apply more to newer Windows 7 systems?
If so, can you or anyone there tell me where I might find these?
Seem's like you're a lone star here so thanks again for taking this on 'cos
you must have plenty to do. Any other kind person to share their experience
if Dan is away?

Sorry to hear. I wonder if in Sibelius you have a couple windows open that
you should close.
Look at the windows menu in Sibelius, arrow down, and make sure that only
Keypad, and Properties are checked. Uncheck any others and see if that
helps. Wish Dan was online to help with this.
Oh, and I believe that you should copy the JAWS scripts to your settings,
and not shared settings. Should be a path like:
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Freedom

today I tried to follow your instructions and from what I understand I copy
the JAWS files into shared documents of Explore Jaws. I did that then
okayed all the registry files. I re-started the computer but when I tried a
file in Sibelius there's no improvement.
One of the dialogs is saying something like:
Access/Access::Describe:128-Method Char not found
OK
The other dialog that comes up I gather is something to do with the
Verbosity Dialog but I can't close this either.
If you could help further or you need any more information to solve the
situation can you please let me know?
I did look at the Plugin crash of the manual and it looks awfully like I
have such a scenario.
From here I'm hoping that my Australian friend can be kind enough to start
all over with the installation process again, but I feel bad about this
because he's got a lot going on.
I'm just terrified that even after a complete re-installation I may get one
of these crashes again and from here I don't know where to go.
By the way you were asking about my computer setup.
I carefully researched the specs in view of having Sib Access so I got
myself a Dell Notebook with a full-size detention qwerty:
To be exact:
Dell Business Latitude E6230 with Quad Core
I54GB RAM
Windows 7 SP1X64 bit.
I didn't take chances with my own precarious computer skills so I enlisted
professional computer technicians along with my JAWS agents to get the
system built where I had
Win 7 Professional, JAWS 14 and Sibelius 5.25.
No trouble apart from the deal of having to learn how to edit and navigate
the new programs, probably not quick enough, that's all.
All I know is that I want these scripts more than anything but the more I
try, the more confused, tired and emotional I'm becoming.
Thought it would get easier with some experience.

I hoed into it yesterday and yeah, it's great to have that confirmation. I
also discovered that you can edit and delete a chord symbol by just tabbing
on it.
I take it that you just press the letter z for the repeat symbols tab to
them and then hit enter to insert?

The part extracttion process is no longer the way to go in Sib 5. Dave's
comment about printing parts from individual views is correct. Simply press
w when you are on the desired staff to see an individual part. Then print
what you see.
