Tramp,
Here's one way to do it in HSPICE. You can change the taps within [] to
generate different PRBS patterns. This will create 4 levels, -1.0, -0.333,
0.333, 1.0 between the nodes in and 0.
.param opfreq = 2.5G
.param _UI = '1.0/opfreq'
.param trf = '_UI*0.1'
Vmsb half 0 LFSR (-0.667 0.667 350E-12 'trf' 'trf' 'opfreq' 5 [10, 5, 3, 2]
rout=1)
Vlsb in half LFSR (-0.333 0.333 350E-12 'trf' 'trf' 'opfreq' 5 [7, 6] rout=1)

Subject: [SI-LIST] the recommended way to generate PAM4
Hi experts,
I'm trying to generate PAM4 using Hspice behavioral elements but somehow the
behavioral statements do not act as expected. While the debug is still ongoing,
I'm wondering if there is a better way to generate PAM4 - in a coding way
rather than relying on simulation tool. Could Matlab or Python be better
options in doing this?
If anyone lets me know where I can download some sharable codes it would be
much appreciated.
