We've looked at several alternatives in our lab for
exactly this purpose and have decided the .085 re-shapable
coax from Pasternack was the way to go.

Yes, it is constructed from solder soaked braid. Easily solderable,
and reasonable robust in the lab if you are careful.

As someone mentioned, order a cable with SMA's on each end,
cut it in the middle and you end up with a pair of probes.
