Hi Myan, XAUI is designed to work over a "compliance channel" that resembles 15" FR4 backplane + 2 x Line connectors. Your signal (15 mm !) is most probably over equalized and suffer from huge reflections. Look in the data sheet for the registers that change the transmitter amplitude/pre-emphasis and receiver equalizer and try setting lower values.
