Hello, Rakesh,

Eye patterns are one way to view how well (or poorly) data patterns maintain
synchronization from one clock cycle to the next. For example, a bit might
be advanced or delayed by crosstalk (pattern dependent noise). There is
also jitter in the clock itself.

A good paper to start with is
http://si-list.org/files/tech_files/ber_white_paper.pdf

Companies that make high-speed I/O, such as Xilinx and Altera, are good
places to search for white papers and application notes on eye patterns and
bit error rates.

Subject: [SI-LIST] What are eye patterns

Hi,

I am interested to know what exactly is an "EYE-Pattern" and how does one
use it while testing a high speed signal /link.

Also if there are any white papers or references, I would like to have them.

Thanx for all the help.

regards
