Hello zhangkun: Thank you for your rapid feedback. I think If it's an ideal capacitor, 100nF is better than 10nF. But self-resonance frequency of a capacitor is 1/sqrt(LC), it's hard to get A high self-resonance frequency for large capacitor. I find it works well in some design using 100nF as AC couple capacitor in lower frequency(~100Mhz). So I'm a little confuse on how The choose the value. And I'm try to ask supplier to provide S11 and S21 parameter now. If you want to study the case, please measure the S21 of 10nF and 100nF. In my view, 100nF is much better than 10nF, if they are in the same package. Hope this would be helpful for you. After I change the capacitor from 10nF to 100nF(both capacitor model is ideal), the simulated eyepattern(eye width and height) improve greatly. I think 10nF is enough for XAUI signal, and the thru S-parameter is nearly the same with 10nF and 100nF capacitor. Can anyone explain how the AC capacitor will influence eyepattern? In real situation, large value capacitor need lager package which mean lager parasitic inductance. So what is the guideline to select this Ac couple capacitor?? Thank you all!
