Hi everyone, A few questions about the new USB 3.0 spec. I just downloaded and started reading the spec. 1) In sections 6.7.3, figure 6-14, the transmitter eye is measured after the Reference Cable and Reference Test Channel. Where are those two things defined? On a related note: 2) In Rev 0.5 of the USB 3.0 Electrical Compliance Methodology white paper, Section 3 talks about Compliance channels and assert that the Touchstone files are available at the usb.org web site (www.usb.org). a) Is this the same as the "Reference Test Channel" mentioned in the spec. b) Where on the usb.org web site are these files located. I've looked, searched, and googled and do not see them. (Hopefully I'm looking in the wrong place). Finally, 3) I'm particularly interested in understanding the breakdown in system channel loss between the host(including PCB, internal cables, and front panel connector), the Cable itself, and the Device PCB. Can anyone comment on the intent/assumptions of the spec writers? Thanks, Eric Kolet Gamble gamble@xxxxxxxx ------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from si-list: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field or to administer your membership from a web page, go to: //www.freelists.org/webpage/si-list For help: si-list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'help' in the Subject field List technical documents are available at: http://www.si-list.net List archives are viewable at: //www.freelists.org/archives/si-list or at our remote archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/si-list/messages Old (prior to June 6, 2001) list archives are viewable at: http://www.qsl.net/wb6tpu
