Si-list:

Since I posted a message to the list a few weeks ago announcing I was no
longer with Sun Microsystems, a number of people have inquired about the
future of si-list. I think I replied to most of those who inquired
privately, but wanted to take a moment to reply to that question to the
list.

Seeing that si-list is not and was not sponsored by Sun, but was and
is a private extra-curricular activity of my own, si-list's future will
not be impacted in any way by my departure from Sun.

(Actually, up until a few years ago, the list did run on an old server
in our si lab at Sun and did run on the Sun network facilities, however
it never was an officially sanctioned, Sun supported activity which was
one of the main reasons we moved it off of Sun facilities when the
volume of list traffic grew to the point of stressing the si lab LAN .)

So the bottom line is that si-list should continue as is for the
forseeable future.

Regards,
