Hi all experts, One question regarding to SAS 2.0 TCTF, after reading the spec, the TCTF is defined as a test load to check if a transmitter is SAS compliance. With the transmitter and TCTF test load, the eyes on the receiver can meet the spec. There is S21 and ISI loss profile for the TCTF. Can I use the profile to qualify the loss of a channel, which include connectors, backplane, and traces on a control board and HDD, without actually having drivers and recievers models to run simulation? Why I can or cannot? The TCTF profile also show ISI loss. How to obtain the loss? Actually running simulation to obtain the ISI loss? Or just like the S21 extracted by simulation tool for a PCB trace. (assuming the PCB trace is the TCTF compliance).
