Hi experts,
I've always wondered about the availability of through-hole / press-fit and
SMT versions of DDR3 and DDR4 DIMM sockets
<http://www.molex.com/molex/products/family?key=ddr4_dimm_sockets&channel=products&chanName=family&pageTitle=Introduction&utm_source=dpb&utm_medium=lit&utm_campaign=general&WT.mc_id=A03253>
.
Are there any signal integrity tradeoffs here (I don't see any relevance
here at DDR4 signal rates and edges)? Why would someone consider
through-hole over SMT? Are there reflow or mechanical issues?
Regards,
Carson
