HI Joel, if yousee the amplitude in the eye diagram, the peak will be +/-X/2, if X is your peak volatge. the reason is i think HSPICE wants to do the stateye analysis with zero as the center line. on the input source, i faced the same issue. with a LFSR input pattern, the eye seems to be opened and with a random source it is kind of closed. i believe with a LFSR source stateye is considering onlly few patterns and not millions of patterns repeating.
