Hi experts,
I know that adding 8b10b encoder will increase the bit numbers. In ADS IBIS
model, there are encoder function in TX model, but no de-encoder function
in RX model. I guess maybe this will increse the bit numbers at RX end when
using 8b10b encoder for TX and therefore make the eye width and height at
RX smaller.
Do you think it's reasonable?
Hope to your reply

Hi experts,
In simulation of SAS-3 12Gbps by IBIS-AMI model obtained from vendors, I
accidently compare the eye diagram when TX with 8b10b encoder and without
8b10b encoder and find that with 8b10b encoder, both the eye heights and
widths become worse than without 8b10b encoder.
Do you also approach such a phemomena and how can we explain it?
