Hello, In the HSpice implementation of an output buffer, there is a optional statement ramp_rwf=0,1,2 and ramp_fwf=0,1,2. Could someone explain the difference between the settings. When is it appropriate to use 1 or 2 instead of the default? My understanding is that these statements along with the "tune" statement are used to get the IBIS outputs to match up to the SPICE based output. Is this correct. If you receive a buffer with minimal documentation and no spice output to compare it to, is it proper to use the default value, or should you set the ramp to 2 and let Hspice defauslt to the highest level supported?
