Hi Bala,

Digital logic is not designed to operate in its linear operating point;
it is supposed to switch either high or low.  If you keep the input
voltage near the transition point for an extended period of time
(which can happen due to reflection plateaus or just by a slow
input voltage ramp), the circuit goes into a burst of self oscillation
while this condition lasts.  A simple way to avoid this is to use some
hysteresis on the input, when the trip point going from low to high
is higher than the trip point going from high to low.
