Joel,

You can reduce the capacitor value even more (maybe 1/1000 nominal) and find 
the average capacitor voltage much faster. Notice that the voltage changes 
during every transition, so the best you can do is specify a starting voltage 
that is the average of the voltage over a few periods after it has mostly 
settled.

Is there a quick way to know what value to use for setting the initial 
condition for the voltage across a capacitor in a Hspice simulation of a high 
speed serial link such as PCI express?
I assume if I new the bias points of the transmitter and receiver that would 
tell me but I am not sure how to find those out.
I did run a very long simulation with the capacitor reduced from .1uF to .01uF 
but this takes a long time.
